The People in Pineapple Place
by Anne Lindbergh

August just moved to Washington DC and he hates it. there's nobody to play with. That is, nobody until he finds Pineapple Place. The people there are strange. They look in garbage cans to get the things they need. They never grow older. Some of the kids were 50 years old and they looked a lot younger. And they were invisible. Sometimes one of them was seen, but not often. August is lucky. He can see the whole place.
He makes friends with April Anderson. They have a whole lot of fun. Roller-skating in museums, riding in a streetcar that was 40 years a go, rag-bagging, and lots more. But April says that the whole street might move away soon. They move every so often. What will August do if they move? Find out in this wonderful, exciting book!
