Up, Up, and Away

Nine year-old Princess Polly was testing to see how far she could stick her tongue out.

"That's disgusting,"said a familiar voice.

Polly put her tongue in and said,"Dolly, go away." Dolly flopped down on Polly's bed and Polly used her tongue to stick it out at her. Dolly wrinkled her nose.

"So what do you want?"asked Polly. Dolly didn't come into her room as a rule.

"I wanted to give you something,"answered Dolly.

"Yeah, right,"scoffed Polly."Like what?"

"A pain in the neck,"Dolly said, giggling.

"You, are by no means, a pain in the neck,"Polly said, trying to count how many freckles she had on her nose. "You're a pain in the brain. Just listening to you gives me a headache."

"Well, for your information, I have to stay here,"said Dolly, triumpantly.

"Why?"asked Polly. "Don't you have someone else to annoy?"

"My new closet is being built, and I can't go in my room,"replied Dolly.

"Why here?"was Polly's next question.

"Sally's playing with Mista and Snowy, and she says I scare them off,"said Dolly, impatiently.

"No wonder,"said Polly."Your voice is enough to scare Frankenstein. Go over to Holly's room." She picked up a sports magazine and started flipping through it.

"Holly has her door locked and Father's in a conferance,"answered Dolly.

Polly glared at her and said, "Well, if you're staying, I'm leaving!" And with that she was out.

Polly wondered what to do. First she decided to take a hike. Then she changed to visit the horses. Finally she settled on going to The Magic Shop. The Magic Shop was full of wonderful magic. Not those cheap little magic tricks, real magic. Polly's eyes rested on a bottle that said, "Flying Polish." The instructions read,"Rub polish on your feet and off you go!" Polly bought it.

Soon she stood in the woods, rubbing polish on her feet. Then she felt herself rising. Polly had just enough time to grab the bottle and soon she was in the clouds. Polly decided to fly home and see if anything was happening there. She saw Dolly leaning out the window. Polly decided to have some fun.

She found a long branch and tickled Dolly's head with it. Dolly grabbed the branch and swung it out. When she saw Polly hanging on to the of it she started screaming. When Polly let go and floated to the ground, Dolly went into hysterics. Polly went inside and stood in the door of her room.

When Dolly turned around and saw her she yelled, "Who gave you permission to fly up and tickle me with a branch?"

Polly stared at her and asked,"Huh? What do you mean? I can't fly."

Dolly opened and closed her mouth while Polly continued,"Maybe you should get your eyes checked."

Dolly stared at her and then ran out of Polly's bedroom. Polly grinned and stuck the bottle of polish in her dresser. It might come in handy.
