ON THE MOON

"Hello," I said, again. I couldn't think of anything else to say. Smiling, I wondered if he would eat me raw or cook me. Did they have ovens on the moon? The snow monster watched me with interest, and then said in pretty good English, (for a monster.) "I Zom. Who you?" "M-me?" I stammered. "Uh, I no taste good." I was trying to speak it's own language. "Me bad. Leave alone." Zom stared at me and laughed. "Oh, no," I thought. "He doesn't believe me. Plan B." Zom was laughing so hard, I thought he would burst. "Plan B, plan B," I muttered. "Um, look!" I pointed behind him. He stopped laughing and said," Me know trick. Do not be scared. I not hurt you. They hurt you." He pointed behind me. I turned around slowly, not knowing if it was a trick. Then I saw them! They were horrible. They were snow monsters that looked very dangerous. I turned back around and said one word. "Help!" Zom nodded and said," Hide in rock." He pushed me behind a rock. "Great," I said sarcastically. "Monsters are coming. This rock is right in front of them. They won't think of looking behind it. No, of course not. Just because it's here doesn't mean food is hiding behind it. I'm dead." Then I thought about what Zom had meant by hide in rock. I looked around and saw a tunnel through the rock. "Ah," I said, softly. "In rock." I climbed in, not seeing something slithering in behind me. When I heard Zom's voice saying," You come out now." I was glad. I turned around and came face to face with a huge snake. "Okay," I said. "It's a snake. It's real, gigantic, and poisonous. I can handle this." With a small scream, I ran down the tunnel. I could here the snake following me. I picked up a sharp rock and bravely went into battle. "All right, you!" I shouted. "Let's find out who you're dealing with!" I stabbed at the snake and ran backwards down the tunnel at the same time. I popped out the other end and rolled for a few feet. Blindly I threw the rock. A split second later, I heard a strangled cry and something landed with a thud next to me. I got up, feeling dizzy and wondered if I was alive. I saw the snake lying dead on the ground. My rock had pierced it's brain. I stepped back, feeling sick. I walked, shakily over to where Zom was. He had apparently not seen my tussle with the snake. I looked at what he had drawn on the ground. There was one big circle with little dots all around it. Some of the dots were circled. They led to another big circle that had an "X" on it. Zom explained to me that I had to step on some stars to get to Earth. "Step on stars?" I asked, doubtfully. Zom nodded and told me which stars to step on. I jumped on the first one and cried." Ow! Hot!" I jumped from star to star until I jumped and landed on a planet. Rubbing my sore feet, I looked around. I was on a planet that was colorless. It was all grey. This was not Earth. I stood up and saw a weird green thing coming towards me. It had four arms and six legs. It looked at me and asked," Are you a Moon Man?" I shook my head and replied," No. I'm an Earthling." The green thing nodded absently and said," I'm Xor. Welcome to Mars. You are under arrest." "Hey!" I crossed my arms and glared at him. "What a great way to greet a visitor." Xor shrugged and said," Come with me." He grabbed my arm and started to drag me along with him. "You don't give me much choice," I complained, wondering what I was in for.
