Rumors of the evilness of Warthdor have even reached Fairyland but I unwittingly wandered into that disgusting realm. When I came to a town and begged for food and housing I was rudely inprisioned. Then they took me to their king. Now, I am not sure if their leader deserves to be called a king, soulless foul wormy cruel tyrant would be nearer to the mark. This abomination questioned me long and hard as to the wearabouts of Fairyland for in his rotten heart he wanted to own all of the wonders of Fairyland for himself. Fortunately, I was able to anwser truthfully that I didn't know. The tyrant was furious and in his anger forced cursed shoes on my delicate feet. The curse on the shoes was that whoever wore them would go in the opposite direction of the place they wanted to get. After that I wandered for many years. The cursed shoes took me away from all civilization and brought me farther and farther away from Fairyland. Many times I tried to remove the tormentors but they seemed glued to my feet. Finally, they brought me here, on the beach at the edge of the world.The shoes kept me here for 400 years but now, since you brave explorers have ventured to come so far you will be able remove the shoes and throw them out into the sea and I will be able to find my way home again. I thank you for rescuing me but I have one more request, I need help to rally the armies of all good nations so we will be able to wipe out the evil country of Warthdor and avenge all innocences who met their underserved doom in that horrible land. The king was going to give up until one of the peasants told him of a museum far away full of magical artefacts. Rhett was very happy and decided to go there himself. He rode his noble horse Jeeves to the museum. It was located in a tower near a forest. There was only one person in the museum and she was a witch that loved collecting magical artefacts. "Good evening. How can I help you?” enquired the witch "Well I have heard that you keep a magical book that Merlin once used" Rhett replied "Yes indeed! Would you like to see it?" "Yes please." The witch took him to the book. It was a beautiful old book with a picture of a wand on the front. "I am interested in buying this book off you. I offer you anything you want. With in reason of course." said the King "Well that does sound mighty nice. I have been looking for a certain artefact for years." "Well I will give it to you if it is with in my power to give it to you" "I would like to have something from the Egyptians since I have nothing from them." King Rhett thought about this and all that he could think that he had was his Egyptian dinner set. "I will think about your offer and return home to consider. If I decide it is a worth while trade I will return and give you what you want,” said the king "Okay" agreed the witch He rode home and was considering what to do. He arrived back and told he royal advisor. He said if he really wanted it he should trade. The king thought about this and found a great idea. He could trade something small from his dinner set. He knew it was not fair but wanted to keep his own artefacts and get the book. The next day he took an old chalice and mounted his horse ready to go. He knew what he was doing was wrong. Finally guilt overcame him and he decided to give her the whole set. Rhett gave her the whole set and she was very happy to give away her book. King Rhett knew that he did the right and honest thing. The 3rd Grade pupils were very excited as they never had a principal teach their class before. "Be seated everyone. Miss Holls is not in today, so I shall fill her in." Principal Douglas told the class. Everyone nodded, smiling at each other. "Today, we are supposed to go for a trip to a museum. Now, is everyone ready? Ok then Let's set off!" It was an exciting day ahead. All the pupils of 3A were jittering in excitement as they love history. With the presence of jovial Principal Douglas, they enjoyed it even more. The museum was packed with many people, both local and foreign. The principal lead them to various places and displays where they were fascinated by the information and works of art. Now, there was one thing that is odd about this Principal. He likes donuts. Not just like, he always develops a craving for donuts. Most of the teachers in school try not to bring donuts to school as they fear that Principal Douglas might pounce on the teachers and snatch the donuts. As they walked on, a young boy of about 10 years old walked past the class. He was eating a chocolate donut and seemed to be enjoying it slowly. Prinicpal Douglas caught a whiff of that donut and immediately turned towards the boy. It was too delicious to ignore! He licked his lips as though he could taste the donut. Then suddenly, he could take it no more. He screamed, "I want that donut!!!!!!" And he pounced on the poor boy. The poor boy was scared out of his wits as he watched the bizarre school principal snatch his donut and eating is ferociously as if he had not eaten for many days. What a sight! All the third graders stood around him, laughing and giggling. Prinicpal Douglas was embarrassed. Everyone was looking at him, laughing and smiling. He felt his face go red. That was indeed an embarrassing day. When he came to school the next day, there was a box lying on his table with a note. Would you believe it, the box was full of donuts! One day, Mike's sister, Daphe, brought him to see a carnival at the other side of the town. Mike, at first, refused to go because he was afraid that the balloons in the carnival would burst and he was scared of that. However, after much persuasion, he relented and went with his sister. The carnival was amazing! There were games everywhere and prizes to be won! Everyone who was there was having a good time, and Mike soon forgot about his fears and had a great time as well. "Look! A hot air balloon! Oh I want to go in that. Let's go shall we Mike?" Daphe cried out in delight as one of those colourful air balloons descended to the ground. "No Daphe, you know how I'm afraid of heights." Mike shook his head firmly. "Oh Mike, you scaredy-cat! C'mon!" Daphe had no choice but to pull his brother to the air balloon. Soon, they were rising up into the air. It was a lovely view from the top. There were trees that were so green and people who looked so small once you were up in the air. Daphe enjoyed the scene very much. Suddenly, Mike spotted a camera on the ground of the hot air balloon. He was sitting down and shaking because he dared not to see the view from high up in the air. Thinking that someone must have forgotten to take the camera, he picked it up. He is a trustworthy policeman and he believed that he should return this camera to its rightful owner. He peered through the camera and stood up. It looked tempting to take a picture with a bird's eye view. Suddenly, Daphe shrieked. "Mike!" Mike was startled and he immediately dropped the camera. Suddenly, he felt shaky all over and had to sit down. He felt nauseous. Daphe looked at him, puzzled. "Mike, I can't believe you actually stood up. You were always so afraid whenever we take an aeroplane to Aunt Lia's house that you would not stop shaking...hey! I think I know what made you forget your fears. It must be the camera!" Mike was puzzled, but when he took the camera and peered through it, he forgot his fears. As he got down from the hot air balloon, Mike returned the camera to the Lost and Found Section at the carnival and bought himself a camera. Ever since then, he was never afraid of anything and everyone respected him. He had a house with two dogs, three goldfish, two rabbits, one horse and one cow. He loved them very much and took care of them well. The animals all loved him back. He was kind to them and he always talked to them when he was free. But the only sad thing was, Zack's friends were only these animals. Zack never went out of his house far enough to make friends. One of the dogs, Sparkly, was worried. He was worried that Zack may not be able to adapt to the world outside. He wanted Zack to venture out into the world and learn to make friends. One night, as Zack was sleeping, he called upon the other animals for a meeting. "Animals! We have a serious problem here! Zack doesn't seem to have any friends except us. What can we do for him?" Sparkly barked. One of the cows replied, "Let's take him to see a doctor! I heard that he has a magic radio that can help him." And so it was decided that Zack should go to the doctor and see him. So they hatched up a plan to make him see the doctor. As Zach woke up that morning, he felt his stomach churning. It was painful. Zack decided to see a doctor. As Zack reached the doctor's office, he was told to wait. Zack sat in the office patiently and waited for the doctor to arrive. On his table was a big red radio. It was bright with big buttons and big speakers. Zack, having never seen such a big radio, was surprised. Suddenly, the radio shook. "Zack! What brings you here?" the radio boomed. Shocked, Zack nearly jumped in fright. "H..how did you know my name?" Zack stammered. "Ho ho, I know everyone that comes to this office. And I know just your problem." And so, the radio told Zack of his problem. Zack nodded sadly and said that it was indeed true that he did not have any friends because he simply did not know how to make one. The radio laughed and said, "Zack, your problem is very simple. All you have to do if you want to make a friend is to simply say a hello and shake hands with that person. You will see the magic later." Zack thanked the radio and immediately forgot about seeing the doctor. As he left, he met a young man. He smiled at the young man and greeted a polite hello. The young man was taken aback, but he smiled and greeted Zack back. Then they both shook hands warmly. Zack felt truly happy because he finally made a friend. Since then on, he stepped out from his house and made many new friends. The book he was reading "Little animals" took place in wild flowers and had many rainbows with lots of colors. He loved the book and dreamed to read everyday of his life. She often gave candy awards to students just for picking up their book bags. But Forrest was getting tired of being Principal. She was even tired of working at the school at all. All of the teachers knew this, and they grew more and more sorrowful each and every day. Even some of the children knew, and they were more upset than their teachers. One day, Sara Hughes called a meeting of her club: The 3G's, which stood for 3 Girls. The members were Sara, Luckie Ravero, and Kendall Ravero. As the meeting began, Sara said: "We need to figure out a way to stop Principal Forrest Waters from leaving!" All of the girls nodded in agreement and Luckie pulled a ring from her pocket. "I know. We'll give her this. It's a magic ring! It'll show her how boring her life will be without Snowy River Elementary. The next day, Sara snuck in to Principal Waters' office and put the ring where she was sure to see it. And she did! After lunch, Principal Waters discovered the ring and put it on. Suddenly, the room began spinning and then it went black. Her eyes flitted open and she was standing outside Snowy River Elementary. "Wha-Wh-How did I get here?" She asked. Then she saw some familiar faced. Kendall, Luckie and Sara were sitting on the swings, not even swinging. Principal Waters could tell they were gloomy and went over to confort them. "Luckie? Kendall? Sara? What's wrong?" She asked. At the sight of Principal Waters, all three girl's faces brightened. "Principal Waters!" Luckie shouted. Kendall smiled. But Sara shushed her friend. "Principal Waters, it's just that...well, we got a new principal since you've been gone. She's mean! She makes us clean up the playground, she serves ucky lunches, and we only get a five-minute break. In fact, it'll be over in two minutes!" She said. Principal Waters was confused. She was about to tell Sara that SHE was the principal, not some other lady, but the bell rang and Sara, Kendall, and Luckie rushed inside. Again, the room began to spin and went dark. When she awoke, Principal Waters was looking in a window. It was her office! She tried to go in, but the door was locked, and she looked through the window again. There was an older, heavyset lady sitting at her desk, fiercly yelling at Kendall. But Kendall never did anything wrong. What was going on. The lady that was yelling at Kendall saw Principal Waters. She waved a stick over her head, and acted as if she was going to hit her with it. Principal Waters ran, and as she did, the ring slid off her finger. Suddenly, she was back in her office, and she knew what had happened. It was the ring! He had just been chased by some rowdy boys. Looking down, he found that he had somehow picked up a raggedy teddybear. It's stitching had come out on one ear and one of the eyes was missing. Dr. Wilkins felt sorry for it. He was just about to leave when suddenly a voice rang in his head, "Buy the orange cat in the cage on your left." Looking around, Dr. Wilkins asked, "Who said that?" Mr. Jonston, the shopkeeper, looked at him and replied, "Not me, sir. And there ain't nobody here 'cept the two of us. You gonna buy something?" Dr. Wilkins felt confused as he said, "Possibly." The bear in his hands shook up and down and the docter's eyes popped out. The voice said again, "It's a very nice cat. He'd keep you company. You are lonely, aren't you?" Dr. Wilkins thought about this. Yes, he had been lonely ever since his wife died, 4 months ago. A cat would cheer him up, but how did this shabby bear know this. "You gonna buy something!" Mr. Jonston said again, louder. "Boy, you looked strange for a sec there. You okay?" Dr. Wilkins nodded and replied, "I'll take that orange cat here." He gestured towards the cage. "How much?:" Mr. Jonston took the cat out and said, "Five dollars. Have a great time with it." Dr. Wilkins nodded dumbly as he handed over the bill. When he got home, the doctor set the bear on his dresser and fed Chance, his cat, with the food from the grocery store. Then he went to sleep. The next day, as soon as the doctor awoke, his eyes darted to the dresser where he had set the teddybear. John had not been doing well in school lately, and Mrs. Berrie was concerned. So far, John had a D in science, and one more C on a test would bring his grade far down. Report cards were coming out that week, and Mrs. Berrie didn't want to give John an F in the class. She came to the last part of the test, feeling discouraged. John's answers were a disgrace! She marked the last essay question and sighed as she put a big red F on his paper. John's test had been the last one, so she had some free time. A visit to his parents was in order. Putting her purse and John's work in the basket of her bicycle (the car was in the shop) she took off for John's farm on the outskirts of town. When she got there, Mrs. Berrie saw John outside and waved him over. John ran towards her, but he slipped on some mud. Mrs. Berrie got off her bike and helped him up. "Hi, Mrs. Berrie," John said cheerfully. "What brings you here?" Mrs. Berrie smiled at him and said, "Are your parents here?" John shook his head and replied, "Nope. They drove into town to get some grain for the chickens and left me here to do the chores." Mrs. Berrie sighed and said, "When you're done with your chores, I need to talk to you." John nodded and said, "Come on, then. I need to clean out the pig sty." Mrs. Berrie followed him, being careful not to step in mud. She'd just gotten these shoes. After John had slipped on the mud a few times, Mrs. Berrie offered to help. John said okay, but warned her to be careful. Mrs. Berrie nodded and stepped towards the pigs. One of them lumbered over to her and snorted. "Oh, my!" Mrs. Berrie looked down. "Oh, he wouldn't hurt a fly," John said. Suddenly there was a ripping sound and the pig lumbered back to his mate with a sizable piece of Mrs. Berrie's skirt. John looked crestfallen and he said, "Gee, I'm sorry. I'll buy you a new one." "That won't be nessessary, but thank you," Mrs. Berrie said. John looked down sheepishly and said, "Remember when I told you that the pig ate my homework? Well, it was true." Mrs. Berrie laughed and asked, "Is there anything else you need help with?" John looked down again and said, "Do you know how to milk a cow?" Mrs. Berrie looked stunned for a moment and then burst out laughing. "I'm a teacher, not a farmhand!" she said. John smiled a little bit. "Anyway, I have to get home," Mrs. Berrie said. "I'll call your parents." Mrs. Berrie walked to your bicycle. "Be careful," John warned again. Mrs. Berrie gasped and slipped on some mud. When she got up, she was covered! Laughing, she climbed on her bicycle and took off with John waving after her. |
